Job Description

Are you a Senior Accountant who is looking for a position close to home?  A client in West Houston is seeking a Senior Accountant to assist in reconciliations, financial reporting, and resolve complex accounting issues.   
 
Responsibilities
  • Post, reconcile and review real estate loan activity monthly
  • Post and reconcile payments, purchases, sales, and interest accruals on a monthly basis
  • Post bi-weekly payroll entries and month-end accruals
  • Reconcile dividend verification monthly
  • Book journal entries as needed
  • Assist in month-end close
  • Clear general ledger exceptions
  • Other tasks as assigned


Qualifications
To be considered for the Senior Accountant position, you will need the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel is preferred
  • Symitar (credit union software experience is a huge plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning  skills
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, credit check, and drug test
