Primary responsibilities are to contact City of Houston vendors to obtain updated records including vendor contacts (name and numbers), NAICS codes, W-9 information and any other documents necessary to ensure we have complete and correct information. Process, organize, files, scan, retrieve and archive department documents. Perform professional administrative functions for the purchasing department group and other duties as requested. Basic analytic ability is required; advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word). Standard work week is Monday - Friday with observation of City holidays. Work hours are 8: 00am to 5: 00pm. $15/hr
Job skill necessary for this position:
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft applications with emphasis on Word and Excel
- Able to manage Outlook email systems as well as standard office equipment
- Able to mail-merge mass distribution of correspondence
- Able to effectively communicate both orally and written
- Understands and performs with professionalism and superior customer service
- Good organizational and time management skills
- High school diploma mandatory, college preferred.
