Great opportunity in Oil and Gas! This global, well-known oilfield service company has an opening for a Project Accountant on a direct hire basis! This position is located in West Houston and requires a very strong accounting background. Chosen candidate will perform the following duties:
Will be responsible for 15-20 active projects, approximately $10M per project.
Review contracts for revenue recognition and significant billing achievements.
Review new project cost estimates and determine quality.
Monthly analyzation of costs incurred.
Work with accounting departments to coordinate with general accounting/accounts payable.
Quarterly reconciliations re: project costs to budgets and discuss differences with project management.
Prepare revenue cut off testing as part of SOX compliance.
Journal entries associated with the monthly closing of the general ledger.
Monthly reconciliation projects related work-in-process and BIX/CIX accounts.
Analyze balance sheet position of individual projects on a quarterly basis to ensure milestone billing is accurate.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of professional Accounting experience
Understanding of SOX compliance
Prior Manufacturing industry experience preferred
Revenue Accounting and/or Auditing experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
People skills are essential for this position as this person will be dealing with individuals across every level of the organization.
